Fernie Summer Vacations - Park Place Lodge

With milder temperatures associated with the west side of the the Rockies, Fernie’s “summer” season often begins in May and carries right through until October. With the spectacular Canadian Rocky Mountains as your backdrop, Fernie offers a wealth of outdoor adventures:

  • Golf: The 18-hole Fernie Golf & Country Club is a challenging par 70 and is noted for it’s mature tree-lined fairways, strategically placed water hazards and spectacular mountain views in every direction. Situated on the north edge of town, the course is easily accessible from the hotel. Check out the great Golf & Stay Packages we are offering this season.
  • Fly Fishing: Amongst fly-fishing enthusiasts, the Elk River is world-renowned. Enjoy a day of guided fishing with Fernie Wilderness Adventures whose office is right here in the hotel or visit one of the excellent fly fishing shops located right across the street from the hotel.
  • White Water Rafting: Discover a wild or mild river rafting adventure on the Elk River with Canyon Rafting or Mountain High Adventures.
  • Hiking & Mountain Biking: Fernie offers a wealth of hiking and mountain biking opportunities right out the front door of the Park Place Lodge.

Guest Testimonials

Great Hotel and perfect spot in downtown Fernie. Stayed here for 2 nights July 27-29th. Easy access to hiking , walking trails. Excellent views from our balcony. Mountain views No matter which way we looked. Indoor pool and hot tub in the middle of the hotel. Huge open area with lots of comfortable seating. Has nice liquor, wine and beer store within the complex. Great hot and cold breakfast with nice selection. Orange juice you pour straight from the jug, not from a machine. We had a nice breakfast which consisted of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, home fries, bake beans, fresh fruit, and pancakes. Location was super has right down town. Onsite Bar and Pub is closed on Mondays so we went to Riverview Bar & Grill just down the street situated beside river flowing through the town. Decor and scenery were great. Food and service were excellent. The next day we ate at the onsite Pub. Service and food were excellent. Decor inside was nice. Both places we are at had patios but because in was very hot we elected to eat inside. Overall, we loved everything about Fernie. Even went to Fernie Alpine Resort to take the chair lift up for hiking. Resort also well know for mountain bike back to the base. 5 out of 5 Stars
