All three trails are located within a 7 minute drive from the Park Place Lodge and offer half-day hiking adventures with access to an amazing reward at the end of the trail.

Epic Hiking Adventures

For those interested in a bigger excursion, plan a full day hike on Heiko’s Trail (Mountain Lakes Trail), the Mt. Hosmer Trail, or the SpineBack Trail at Island Lake Lodge. From old growth forests, to wild alpine flowers to stunning Rocky Mountain views from over 6000 feet, these challenging but rewarded trails are the high point of any visit to Fernie BC. Heiko’s Trail, in particular, is considered by many avid hikers as one of the best day hiking trails in the Canadian Rockies complete with cascading waterfalls, giant caves and ancient cedars.
