June 3, 2020 Update:

Thank you to all our regular customers who have inquired about or who have booked a stay at the Park Place Lodge in the coming months.  We value your continued support and patience as we work with the community and province towards safely reopening Fernie to travellers.

If you have booked accommodations with us, please see our earlier updates on how we continually have adjusted our operations at the Park Place Lodge to provide a safe environment for your stay with us. We have also produced and full Covid Safety Plan which our team at the hotel is implementing to keep both our staff and customers safe.

 We are excited to announce that we are re-opening the Pub Bar & Grill as of Thursday, June  4th The team in the Pub have been working extremely hard over the past month to ensure we have a plan where the health and safety of our Pub Family is our #1 priority. We have adjusted our operations, but we are also making sure the Pub remains the Pub! We will be operating Monday to Saturday (closed Sundays) 12 Noon until Late with the Kitchen open from 12 Noon – 2 PM and 4 PM- 9 PM. Head over to our Pub page for more information on our menus and how we plan to operate safely. This is Phase 1 of our plan to re-open food & beverage operations at the hotel. Phase 1 also includes room service for hotel guests, enhanced in-room and grab n’ go breakfast options, as well as a limited number of services for meetings and group functions in the hotel. More information on expanded operations including the re-opening of the Bistro will be announced as we finalize the details of Phase 2.

In addition to our Pub, many of Fernie’s other restaurants, pubs, and retailers have also begun to reopen with provincial level guidelines in place to ensure the health and safety of their staff and customers. Activity operators such as local rafting companies are opening mid June, Fernie Alpine Resort opens June 27th, fly fishing guides start June 15th and the Fernie Golf Club is now open. Our Spirits Beer & Wine Shop is open daily from 10 am – 9 pm. For the safety of our staff and customers, we continue to implement a number of policies including occupancy restrictions (maximum 2 people in store at a time), enhanced cleaning protocols as well as a plexi-glass shield at the service counter.

As a final note to our customers, please expect a new way of experiencing Fernie and the Park Place Lodge this summer as we progress through these re-openings and new safe ways of offering our services. This includes adjusted operating hours as well as limited drink and food menus.  We have also added new protocols and our service team has extra health and safety responsibilities, this may impact the style or speed of service. Our goal is create a safe and enjoyable environment for our guests as well as staff. We are doing our best to try and get it right and would be thrilled if you are willing to share your feedback. May 15, 2020 Update:

Thank you to all our regular customers inquiring about booking a stay in Fernie at the Park Place Lodge.  We value your continued support and patience as Park Place Lodge works with the community and province towards reopening to regional travellers in the near future.

While we continue to provide overnight accommodations for essential services, it is important to note the provincial government guidelines for non-essential travel to BC is still on hold till at least June. If we keep BC on a positive trend we may see some travel open up next month. Please continue to #stopthespread. With that in mind, we are working with our community partners in anticipation of the opening up of our community to tourists next month. For more information on what this will look like, please stay tuned here and to the www.TourismFernie.com website. We are welcoming reservations for all travellers starting in June but may still be required to rebook those at a later date if the provincial government extends the ‘no non-essential travel’ directive beyond May 31st. We will know more towards that later part of this month. Our Spirits Beer & Wine Shop continues to be open daily from 10 am – 8 pm with restrictions in place. With the recent Provincial Government announcements we are now working towards implementing our re-opening plan for both the Bistro and Pub Bar & Grill in the next 2-3 weeks. Please stay tuned for announcements in the coming days of what that plan will look like.

March 30, 2020 Update:  

The provincial government has identified hotels as an essential service and we will continue to offer overnight accommodations. On-line booking channels for reservations between now and April 30th are closed and reservations can only be made by contacting the hotel directly via email or phone: 250-423-6871. Essential service providers such as medical professionals, law enforcement, and utility companies continue to work and we want to be able to provide a comfortable and safe place to stay when they are in Fernie.  In addition, in order to comply with the recommendations of our health authorities, a number of services offered in conjunction with accommodation have been removed or altered. This includes food & beverage services, housekeeping services as well as access to the pool, hot tub and fitness room. Additional information regarding these changes will be provided at the time of booking.

Hours of operation of our Spirits Beer & Wine Shop have been reduced to 10 am – 8 pm with restrictions in place. While our store is closed to public access, you can now conveniently order products via phone or text and we will arrange for safe contact-free pick-up outside our storefront.  Spirits Beer and Wine Order Hotline- Call or Text 250-423-0685. Both the Bistro and Pub Bar & Grill continue to remain closed to the public until further notice as ordered by Interior Health due to the Covid-19 Situation. March 20, 2020 5:00 PM Update: Both the Bistro and Pub Bar & Grill continue to remain closed to the public until further notice as ordered by Interior Health due to the Covid-19 Situation. Hours of operation of our Spirits Beer & Wine Shop have been reduced to 10 am – 8 pm with access restrictions in place. This may change based on daily circumstances. We are still accommodating guests in the hotel and are coordinating limited room service / grab ‘n go breakfast options for hotel guests only during this time. Additional services available to guests staying with us are limited due to restrictions. On-line booking channels for reservations between now and April 30th are closed and reservations can only be made by contacting the hotel directly via email or phone: 250-423-6871. March 17, 2020 5:00 PM Update: Both the Bistro and Pub Bar & Grill are now closed to the public until further notice as ordered by Interior Health due to the Covid-19 Situation.  We will still coordinate room service / grab ‘n go breakfast options for hotel guests during this time. We are also looking at choices to provide additional take-out options  for our customers moving forward. Additional information on what additional steps we are undertaking are highlighted below.

At this time, the Park Place Lodge remains open with possible fluctuation of hours and service levels. This includes our Bistro Restaurant, Pub Bar & GrillSpirits Beer & Wine Shop as well as our overnight accommodations. Due to the rapidly evolving nature of the Covid-19 situation, the operating schedule may change based on daily circumstances.

It is clear that individuals will be in need of lodging, food services and support and we are looking for options as to how we can safely and effectively contribute to our community. We want to also assure our customers that we are rigorously complying with the recommendations of our health authorities and continuing to strive to maintain high standards of hospitality and service for our guests. This includes intensifying our cleaning standards, limiting our capacity in our restaurants, and postponing special events.

We will be monitoring the situation very closely as we plan our next steps and will strive to keep you informed.
